WTF Hotel
What's the deal with con hotels being sold out seven months out? That's just nuts.
Anyway, for those of you who don't know, the Further Confusion hotel is sold out and has been for a couple of weeks now. Not just the con block, mind you, but the entire friggin' hotel right down to the janitorial closets. There is an overflow hotel a few blocks away, which is a Holiday Inn, but those are always such an unknown quantity that I didn't want to mess with it.
So I found a Courtyard by Marriott, which is rapidly becoming my favorite option for hotellage, just about the same distance as the overflow hotel but straight up Technology Drive -- Starbucks is right between the two, in fact, and as how I pretty much always stop in there in the mornings at FC anyway, it doesn't really add anything to my morning pre-con walk.
It does make it harder to stash stuff in my room or stop back in the room for a quick nap, but usually at FC I don't do that as much anyway.
Maybe I should book my room for next AnthroCon now. ¬.¬

I think furry cons are approaching gamer-con hotel reservation pathologies. From what I've read, Gen-Con's hotel sells out two weeks after reservations open.

Something you may want to consider is (since hotels like guests) talking to a sales rep at the Couryard and finding out what you can get if you (and friends) book XX number of rooms.

or renting a Vespa...

THIS year, we registered well in advance.
Yeah, we live in the area -- but that just means getting a hotel room IN the con hotel is that much more important. Otherwise... we might as well just crash in our own bed.

Perhaps I should consider the Westin, once AC has a rate negotiated.

Don't you?
Dragon*Con rooms sell out almost as fast as SDCC rooms. People make their rezzies the day they're announced!

MFM sold out of double rooms if you're getting there on Thursday and staying till Monday morning. I need to figure out what I'm doing for MFF real quick now, too.

I haven't even decided on whether or not I'm going to go yet!

That's just ridiculous.
