First and foremost, I think it's important for a writer to feel good about their writing. If you don't feel good about what you're writing, then it's questionable on whether or not what you're writing will have a good impact on your audience. So the fact that you don't feel good about this is probably the best indicator that it might be time to rethink how, what or why you're writing it.
Which isn't a bad thing! I can't count the number of times that I've gone back a totally blank page because I didn't feel good about what I wrote.
I think that this kind of introspection can only help build Brigid and Greg, or what comes out of them, into something you'll be happy with. :D
