But Hitachi/IBM Almaden has done good tech work to make that happen (where that == increasing areal density almost a magnitude of order). The press release hit all the usual geek news outlets a couple of days ago - I'm impressed Hitachi approved the $ to create that ad though, that's quite a surprise...
The first drives are about 18 months out. I'm certain Maxtor will be releasing some magic to compete soon, but I can about guarantee there won't be any dancing bits ;-)
