The Amazing Vanishing Gneech

According to Spanky the Wonder Scale, this morning I'm 268, 38% bodyfat. This is very close to my personal best of 264.5, 42% -- thank you, Kung Fu! :)

Of course, this IS Spanky the Wonder Scale, that declared with utter conviction that I was 290 lbs. on January 11th because I put it on a different spot of the floor -- so I can only put so much stock in what it says. However, I've been using a consistent spot for all of my other measurements, and it's the only gauge I have, so I'll have to just watch for trends.

And now, just for [livejournal.com profile] tkarrde98, I am going to switch the sentence in my user info that says, "I Wish I Was: 75 lbs. lighter and more self-confident," to "I Wish I Was: 65 lbs. lighter and more self-confident," because I wrote that 10 lbs. ago. Gotta track progress, after all! ;)

Speaking of all of which, it's time for my Saturday workout. Catcha later!

Yaaaaay! *Giggle*

You know, if your bodyfat is lower, it's moer than great to be heaier than you were. Personally, I wouldn't mind being as heavy as you, with a very low bodyfat count. I'd be all ripply!

You are doin so good :) It might be inspiration enough to get my ass off the chair and do something to make me prettier... but then again, sitting around is SO relaxing ;)

Keep it up, Boss!

There are so few Gneeches in the wild, we need to
make sure they're healthy! :)

Good luck.

Your percentage numbers for bodyfat "personal best" surprised me.

I expect that we might be seeing a trend toward lighter humor, then?

Well, I am definitely gaining more muscle mass, which is a cool thing. But I am not paying a whole lot of attention to the bodyfat percentage, because this scale is so wonky.

Next time I go to the chiropractor, I'm going to get a caliper-test for bodyfat percentage, which is much more accurate than my little electric scale. Then I'll do another one of those every few months, to track my progress.

FWIW, I would still want to lose some weight, even with a very low bodyfat percentage, I suspect, because to be 6'2" and 268 lbs. would make me look like Lou Ferrigno -- and that's not what I want.

You quoted 38% as being close to your "personal best" of 42%.

Perhaps it is a semantic issue, but isn't 38% better than 42%?

Oh! Yeah, that was mostly a matter of sloppy writing on my part. I have been treating each pair of measurements as a set ... today's set was 268/38; my previous best set, in November of 2001, was 264.5/42.

38% is better than 42%, yes; in fact, 38% is the best bodyfat measurement yet.

Sorry. :) That's what I get for referring to things in my own private lingo.

All right. At least you understand my puzzlement. ];-)

But you can sling your lingo, and even make it up as you go. Be my guest!

Oh no you don't. 65 lbs is ... probably around the weight of your bones and a couple organs (e.g. your brain). Or something like that.

OTOH, if you average them you get some 166 lbs. Not bad =-)

But doesn't that mean that when you weigh less than 200 lbs, you'll be aiming for negative weight? @.@

You could go to the moon, where you'd weigh 44 lbs ;)

Y'know, I've been looking at this comment since Saturday, and I still don't have a clue what you meant. :)

Don't worry, because I wasn't quite sure at the time either =-)
