If it's any encouragement that you can still be a success by yourself, I remind you that Bill Watterson did Calvin and Hobbes entirely solo, and actually fad to fight the syndicates off because he didn't want the Hobbes Plush Doll, Calvin Mugs, Suzi Derkins T-Shirts, Mrs. Wormwood Green-with-yellow-polkadot Student Beaters (um, hehe-- maybe not)... And I think he did quite well for himself, and is now enjoying a very happy retirement after just eleven years of drawing.
