Moratorium on Elf-Tweaking

I haven't tweaked Celedras for five whole days now! 0.o But I stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way home tonight and picked up the Player's Handbook II -- and it's mighty tempting!

Actually, Celedras is as finished as he can get without actually playing, I'm just being goofy. While I may very well use some of the new feats on Celedras as he levels up, there's nothing in there that would serve him any better than the build he's got now.

Now all I want, really, is to play!

The PHB2 is pretty fun, but I can only see myself using one or two of the feats in it myself. The rogue ability to stun unsneakattackable stuff is sort of nice though. Too bad I'm too high level already. -.-

Chapter 8: Rebuilding Your Character...

Eh, but I don't wanna rebuilt. I mean, its nice but I'd rather make stabby death on stuff and be able to dodge. That lvl 4 ability is pretty useful if I remember correctly.

speaking of playing, you'll be away this coming weekend.. play the week after?

Not any of our regular games, but there might be a pickup game; I'll send an e-mail when I know more. :)

If I lived on your area (which I think I don't, unless your in LA) I'd like to play some D&D with you sometime. Never played the game, but would like to learn. Course my character would be some kind of well-rounded magic user type fo some kind.

Nope, I'm at the other end of the country, sorry!

D&D is great with the right people -- but finding the right people is the trick. ;) If you've ever played any computer RPGs, tho, you know all the basic concepts. Any game that ever had character stats and "levelling up" is based on D&D, even if the specifics are wildly changed.

It's been a long time since I've played, so I'd have to relearn the rules if I ever tried again.

A magic user would definitely suit you. You might also make an interesting dungeon master.

Oh yeah, I love magic users :) But why would you say I'd make a good dungeon master?

I'm more of a ranger or fighter person.

Simple, you enjoy writing and creating new universes. You could probably come up with some interesting plots and fun twists on old ideas. I do have to admit that I don't know how you would handle players doing things you didn't expect or want, but I think you could manage.

Wow. *blush* Thankies, that's nice to hear ;)

You're welcome. While the core rulebooks (Player's Handbook, Dungeonmaster's Guide, and Monster Manual) aren't cheap, you might want to get them. They would help you learn the rules and might give you some ideas for your own stories.
