There's a Saturday Grab Bag Today!

If for no other reason than that I managed to get some sketching-for-fun done last night!

It also enabled me to get around the Moratorium on Elf Tweaking, 'cause let's face it, you have to tweak a drawing until you get it right! ;)

EDIT: Oh! Speaking of elf-tweaking, I should mention here! Last night I happened upon the idea of just gently washing those frosted-looking figures with a brushful of clean water, and it seems to be working. I don't know if it's melting the errant particles, cleaning them off, or just "filling in the gaps" but there's definite improvement. It's weird, when the water is fresh on the figure, the frosting disappears completely, revealing the paint underneath that's supposed to be there. When it dries, the frosting comes back, but noticeably diminished. So I'm going to try multiple washings ... the figs might be salvageable yet!

Tweaking elves, eh. The next big thing, perhaps? ;)

Well, if nothing else it gives me a chance to use my Weehawk icon for this reply. See ya at Balticon. Woohoo! :)

SGB! Woot!

Don't tweak too hard or they're liable to fight back. ;)

Glad that the frosting is coming off. I'd imagine the fixative must be mildly water solubule. That's good news. My guess on the "frosting" is that it came out of the can too heavy and formed bubbles in the coating.

Have the best
