Hello From Mach5

As I mentioned a while back, GORT was driving me up a wall, so I bought a new computer, which arrived today. It's a shiny red-and-chrome thing that looks a little bit like it should be on the hood of a muscle car, or possibly like it's one of Optimus Prime's shoulders, or both. However, as I'm just not a Transformers guy, I named it the next best thing I could think of, "Mach5."

It's a big, beefy machine, which is cool; unfortunately, it's also running Vista, which has had the unfortunate side-effect of killing my Wacom Tablet. Granted, the tablet is going on 10 years old now and I got it for free to begin with, so I guess I really don't have much room to complain, but I'm going to anyway. ;P

The net result of all of which is that I probably won't have comics in the upcoming week or two until a new tablet arrives, just because I couldn't bear to go back to trying to draw with a mouse. -.- If I get really desperate, I've still got GORT and I can put him on the dining room table to work on, but I'm only prepared to do that as a last resort.

I'm going to keep drawing in the meantime in any case, so hopefully if the strips do get stuck I can use the time to get ahead a bit (not to mention working on the books). But until then, I've got a long weekend of installing ahead of me.

Still, I can't wait to see LotRO on this thing. :)

Jus' be sure to have it innoculated with good anti-virus-and-malware apps before gittin' into the web, good sir..
And don't give up on yer tablet too soon.. try some backward compatibility modes first... might work!

It's odd that it would kill the tablet. The one I have is about the same age and works fine with Vista. You might want to do the usual driver check from Watcom if you already haven't.
