Wow, That Was Unproductive

I didn't get anything done tonight. I was going to try to draw, except I decided I felt like working on gaming instead. Then I thought, "I'll try working on my new campaign idea," which I was going to run in a modified version of D&D, except I found myself thinking, "Dammit, I don't want to run this game in D&D. Everything done in D&D is exactly like everything else done in D&D." So I picked up Fantasy Hero, except then I thought, "But neither Camstone nor Frisk want to use the HERO System; they want to choose from a long list of options. I suppose I could write up a bunch of powers and stuff that acts like the Feats in D&D to give them something closer to what they want. But erf, that's a lot of work."

What the hell did I pick up GURPS for? Just put that away right now.

"Heck with it," I then thought, "I'll decide on a game system later. How about I just come up with some background info. Lessee ... I want something vaguely Tolkienish, just because LOTR is so prominent right now. Hmm ... that board game from the '80s was kinda cool ... 'Dark Tower,' maybe I'll use that. No, wait, that's just opening myself up to 'Dork Tower' jokes. I dunno if Camstone or Frisk have read any 'Dork Tower,' but better off not to take the chance. I've got enough aggravation."

I wrote a few scraps, hated them, erased them, wrote a few more scraps, and hated them too.

"Screw it, I'm not going to get anything done. Maybe I'll just play the new LOTR computer game that somebody gave me for Christmas."

Attempt to install; system hang halfway through install. D'Oh!

Reboot and attempt to install again; system hang 2/3 of the way through install. Sigh.

It's now 10:00 and I'm tired, cranky, and frustrated. Drawing sucks, gaming sucks, and playing on the computer sucks. Oh well, assuming LiveJournal doesn't eat this post, at least I will have gotten some griping done!

I'm going to bed. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Heh. Welcome to my life.

Ever heard of 7th Sea? David and I are supposedly setting up a role to play, but I'm dragging my feet.

I've heard of 7th Sea. Heard of it. Saw it once briefly. For some one as oblivious as I tend to be, I'm rather hip when it comes to Gaming. Surprise myself, I do. Yep. -Frisk

But you have no opinion on it?

not particularly. My awareness of it does not include knowledge of it. -Frisk

Don't know Dork Tower, but your fears about Mudge and Camstone joking about it brought to mind Yoshida and I in your bedroom saying "Spock with the rock-hard c**k locked to the dock.." I'd forgotten all about that.

Uh ... okay ... I have no memory of the event, and I think I'm glad. -TG

It was some fantasy adventure you were running, and we met an elf or something, and you'd drawn a picture of him, which we thought looked like Spock, and starting joking about it like that, making rhymes, "Spock with the rock-hard c*ck on the dock" and you were getting more and more mad. I don't remember anything more than that.
