A Little Thing Like Childbirth???

New Guy Ken canceled gaming this weekend because his wife has gone into labor (the process of childbirth, not the sociopolitical demographic) and Ken will be ... shall we say ... distracted. So bummer about gaming, but big congrats to Ken!

That actually clears the way for me to get a lot more done on Orange Alert this weekend anyhow, so as much as I'll miss gaming, it's not a total loss.

One of my gaming groups had the same thing happen, and they just moved the games to their place instead so they could look after the kid. Maybe you could do that? Or is he too far away to make it practical.

Congratz go to him! :)

Lizard Rat out.

Ah, but a good gamer would not let a little thing like childbirth keep him from his regular gaming night. His wife could sit in on the game and provide sound effects.

DM: Okay. As your party backs away from the harpys, the lead harpy lunges toward you with a scream.
effects: EEEEEEEEEEEEE!
DM: Oops, your porter fell down - failed the surprise roll. The lead harpy dives on him and thrusts one claw deep into his chest.
effects: Get this thing out of me! Get it out now!
DM: As your party retreats, you become aware that the skies above you are suddenly filled with harpys. You hear the cleric say a quick prayer.
effects: Oh my God!!!
DM: You draw your magic sword, preparing to do battle. You overhear your hapless porter struggling for his life behind you.
effects: This is all your fault you b*st*rd!!
DM: The harpys settle to the ground, encircling you. You watch them close on you, step by step, while your porter curses you with his dying breath.
effects: I'll get you for this!

Just don't show this to his wife, please :)

You call that an excuse?
