*thunk*

Another 10-hour day today, under very stressful conditions. I had enough energy to go get some dinner after work was done -- but that was it. So no strip for tomorrow; I have just enough brainpower to put up a placeholder and get into bed before passing out. I feel sick from exhaustion. But if I go to bed at 8:00 tonight, maybe I can get up early enough tomorrow to get the strip done, colored, and posted before I have to go to work in the morning.

My job at Starbucks and SJ are fundamentally incompatible. How do I get rid of Starbucks, before it gets rid of SJ?

Hrm. I see. Rest-- we can wait an extra day or three to see Tiffany again. Your health and well-being are more important than your comic. :)

I agree.

I once heard a story, where an Atom like object was split into two.
But the object used the same soul.
It ended up tearing itself apart, because the two couldnt acheive balance as they fought for dominence.

Here, your placeing yourself in the same situation. You have work, and obligation. The two of which is pulling you apart like a Tug of War, with you being the rope and the pullers.

You have a lucky situation though. Your fans worry about you, care about you, and love you. And will gladly wait, while you recover.

We all want you to be healthy. So if you need to draw into your life, and just stick with Work, and Resting. (with personaly enjoyment to relax like movies games, etc.) insted of adding more stress to your table with art, and stress like that. Then do it.

Because, you trying to keep both sides of the scales balanced, your only gonna end up breaking the scales itself as you put to much weight in both.

So take a break, ok? Rest. and Rest long.
Your a stubborn man, we know that. But you makeing yourself to wake up early, for a comic. Though touching to your fans, it isnt right. :-/ You come first, not us, or 'The fans'.

Please take care of yourself bro.

I'll send more luck and happiness pixies and pixles to you.

*hugs tightly.*

SJ will never really be gotten rid of by the likes of Starbucks. Postponed, withheld, stalled, maybe, but never destroyed. You have a very large fan base that is willing to put up with almost anything so long as the end result is more SJ. Eventually, hopefully *before* you burn out completely, Starbucks will become something else you'd rather being doing that also permits SJ. I'm pulling fer ya! -Frisk e

Your health comes first. Period.

Both mental and physical health comes before SJ, before Starbucks, before anything else in your life.

We're fans. We can wait. We love SJ, but we want even more to know that you're okay.

Methinks I shall ask WebTroll if he can draw up some SJ guest strips if I write them...

Well, thanks, as always. :) But the problem is that on my personal list of priorities, SJ comes way ahead of Starbucks -- but Starbucks keeps jumping ahead in line, so to speak, by holding my ability to buy groceries and pay the rent hostage.

Sneaky bastards!

Hrm. Well, since Starbucks is directly tied to your health and well-being, I'd say you may need to rearrange for a while and let "the sneaky bastards" have their way.

We, your devoted fans and friends, love you too much to see you do that to yourself. I was just reading Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book and I thought of you a lot as I read it. Watterson wore himself ragged for the comic, and that was his job! He ended up taking two nine-month sabbaticals because of it. There is unspoken advice in there, that while the comic is important, and to be true to yourself, you must get the comic in there, you are more important than the comic.

Now I'm not advising early retirement of SJ, though it may come to that someday if things don't improve. But (as I said elsewhere) you may need a good sabbatical. And take time to order your life-- what things must you get done to live, and what things must you get done to feel good about yourself. The places where those cross is where to set your primary priorities.

Think of Tiff. She hates the job at MegaHuge, right? But she's there, because the Modelling isn't paying enough. And she surrendered to MHCGMC for that training, even tho' she'd rather be with Conrad, or at a modelling event, because she had to eat (and even in the SJ world, predation just doesn't cut it). Starbucks is *your* MegaHuge ConglomaCo. Make the most of it, and remember that this too, shall pass.
