ZOMG! It's the Defiant! Did anyone else realize that is not a new name in DS9?

Yes, there are those of us Trekky enough to know that.

I also know that Will Riker was based on William Decker of the cancelled Star Trek Phase II for the first attempt at a Paramount Network. Which later was made into Star Tek the Motion(less) picture.

The clip is just a compilation of the new effects that were put into the remastered version. People have been recording them off of TV as they get aired and putting the FX shots up on YouTube. I don't know why the "no sound" thing, they've just tended to be that way.
