Much as I gripe about this job, it does come in handy from time to time.

I had a rough day yesterday, largely the culmination of a week full of STOOPID that wouldn't leave me alone. (We work for the Federal gumminit -- STOOPID is our primary industry.) So I spent last night not getting anything done, but we did go visit my parents and take them a framed VJ Day Kiss print. My mom was quite pleased, but true to form, said "That's great! But since this frame is clear, can you bring another picture to put on the other side as well?" (Me: "...")

I stayed up until way too late playing a goofy Flash app "Love Hina Dating Sim" I found online. (It was a fan-made game that had some cool bits, but a lot of WTF in it, such as gratuitous profanity and drug references. If it had stayed more true to the source material, I would have enjoyed it a lot more.) By the time I crawled into bed, I was dead-dog-tired ... which meant that I finally got deep sleep for a change, something I haven't had all week.

So today, while I'm still kinda tired, I feel a lot more like my usual self. (I still canceled gaming this weekend, tho -- I need to decompress a bit more.) I'm thinking I might do some DDR when I get home, plus my usual Thursday night Bowflex routine later.

Just primary industry? Primary, secondary and tertiary, last I looked.

Heh. I thought gaming was for decompressing. A couple of my players have been doused with obscene amounts of STOOPID themselves and were eagerly waiting for the last game, then people bowed out and got sick >.> So I can't wait for mine.

Out of curiousity, and I dunno if I've asked this before or not (knowing me I probably have), have you ever converted the SJ cast to D&D 3.5?

And did you send that league site to Kamau for his glancing-over? ;)

Gaming requires (a) prep, (b) herding cats players, and (c) spending a major chunk of your weekend sitting at a table. To that extent, while it is recreation, it can also be a lot of work -- which I'm not up to right now.

Re: conversion, nope ... seems like a peculiar way to spend my time. ^.^

And I don't remember if I sent that to Kamau or not, actually. 0.o I think I did, but I'll have to dig around my e-mail records to be sure.

Ahh, the ol' payin' o' the bills. 'tis a time-honored tradition in these parts, generally followed by the ritual Digging For Change in the Couch and the Sacrament of the Ramen Noodles.

Or it used to be. Before I took this job what has some nice stress, but equally nice pay. hooray!

You know I think there's a stress virus going around or something. I swear half the people I've talked to of late are stressed out over something or other (including myself). Hopefully spring will help with all of that.
