the_gneechWell, I'm in quite a quandary about what to do with Eddie Ape. One artist I particularly admire advocates the heavy-build no-neck look ... various other folks whose opinion I also respect think that Eddie ain't broke ... and lots of other people have given the never-helpful advice of "Do what you think is right." :) [1]
I'm of multiple minds about the whole thing. On the one hand, I really like the new design labeled "Ooh!" in the development pic, while the profile pic has the advantage of being closer to the original Eddie (but is very clearly not the same character in the "Ooh!" pic).
Last but not least, there's also the fact that I don't know if/when I'm going to be using Eddie again after this storyline is done (for reasons I don't want to go into to avoid spoilers) ... so training myself to draw Eddie a whole new way might be largely wasted effort all around. I might be better off to leave Eddie the way he is, and just use the lessons I've learned here when building new characters.
I don't think I'm going to get this decision made today; I'm too tired and cranky from not getting enough sleep last night to think clearly. Oh well.
