Shapeless Horror (CL 26 / 108,300 XP)

A terrible, indescribable thing vaster than a subway train – a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriad of temporary eyes forming and unforming as pustules of greenish light. Ick.

Amorphous Physiology Their lack of normal organs makes shapeless horrors very difficult to kill – any attack against them just gets absorbed into the mass of the whole. This makes the shapeless horror immune to critical hits or coup de grace and impossible to flank.
Crush A shapeless horror's favorite tactic is simply flowing over an opponent and stopping to slowly crush the life out of them. It can use this tactic against any foe of large size or smaller, doing a 6 square x 6 square area attack at +32 against the Ref save of anything in the area. On a successful attack, the target takes 2d6+32 points of damage per round, begins to suffocate, and cannot move or attack unless it wins an opposed grapple check. On a failed attack, the target is automatically pushed out of the area of attack (like a bull rush) and lands prone, taking 1d6 damage for each 2 squares moved (rounded down).
Horrific Visage In campaigns that do not track SAN (only), a shapeless horror makes an attack at +20 as an automatic reaction against the Will defense of any non-mindless creature that sees it. If the attack succeeds, the victim is subject to fear for the duration of the encounter and compelled to flee in horror for the next 2d6 rounds. If the attack fails, the victim is still subject to fear for the duration of the encounter.
Natural Climber A shapeless horror gets training in Climb for free. It can take 10 on any Climb check, even if rushed or distracted.
Natural Swimmer A shapeless horror gets training in Swim for free. It can take 10 on any Swim check, even if rushed or distracted.

The words "face the thing that should not be" have never seemed so apt.

Yipe! Sounds like you had better have a very good or very lucky mage in your party if you run on this one.

Hmm, maybe freeze it solid then smash it?
DR 10, cold 20
Or maybe not. Come on lucky dice!

Ahhh, I'd just throw salt on it and wait.

A LOT of salt...
