the_gneechStarbucks went well again today; manager told me I did a good job at the end of it. I was on the Drive-Through most of the day, saying, "welcome to Starbucks, I'll take your order whenever you're ready," into my little headset.
One of the shift supervisors there used to work for AOL, before layoffs claimed him. And one of his relatives manages the building that LifeMinders used to be in ... so he got to see all that money they spent on acquiring the "dot-com look!" We had fun trading dot-bomb war stories. :)
The VEC sent me a strange letter out of the blue, about some variety of hearing associated with my unemployment benefits ... apparently LifeMinders is contesting my eligibility or some such crud. Laurie was more bothered about it than I was ... she got pretty upset. So we went over to some friends' house to play games and relax, which helped her immensely.
