Snow Day

Most of the office is playing hooky today. I say "playing hooky" because while yes, there was snow, the roads are fine and there's really no reason not to be here unless you have to stay home to watch a kid who isn't in school. It's quiet here, I'm trying to work on a project I couldn't care less about, and I'm itching to get out and run around.

I also want to play Danger, International in the worst way!

Feh. Why do I feel like a kid stuck at school staring out the window?

I Got to Meet Jackie Chan!

I was at another showing of the "Shaolin Wheel of Life" show, and he came in with a couple of attendants (the usual 'celebrities always have somebody lurking nearby' types). He sat not too far away, and seemed to enjoy the show.

Then suddenly we were outside at some kind of beach house or something, it was a bright sunny day, and he was sitting in a lawn chair looking up at me as if to say, "Yes, you wanted something?"

I was, naturally, quite surprised to suddenly be having an audience with Jackie Chan. Uttering a wildly intelligent, "Jackie Chan!" I gave him my best Kung Fu bow. He grinned, apparently pleased by that.

"So who are you?" he asked.

"Just a Kung Fu student," I told him.

Then, we were inside the same beach house, and he said, "My chiropractor teaches Kung Fu. He's also a black belt in Tai Chi Chu'an."

"Really?" I said. "My chiropractor does too." [1]

Suddenly, Jackie looked bored, like the conversation had gone on longer than he actually wanted it to, and there was some activity outside.

Then I woke up to the radio going off.

That's pretty bad ... two whole sentences, and I made Jackie get sick of me that fast.
