Too Many Things, Something's Gotta Give
Apr. 30th, 2005 10:50 amI have decided to take a break from Kung Fu for the month of May. My attendance has been spotty lately as it is, as I've been either crunching on a project, or sick, and I need to rebuild the SJ buffer before my California trip at the end of the month. Of all the things I do, Kung Fu is the one that most interferes with the others (well, actually, having a job is, but I can't take a month break from that without dire, dire consequences).
I'm a little bummed about it, because I feel like I've failed at something, but it is just for a month after all, so I'll survive. I took a similar break in 2003 and it wasn't a problem, so I should be fine. When I go back in June, there'll be a $35 "reinstatement" fee, but that's better than paying $89 for my regular May tuition and then not actually going.
I am gonna keep practicing, too, probably on irregular weekday afternoons and Sunday mornings, to keep myself from getting too rusty. I won't be making forward progress, but I won't be backsliding either.
And now, I've got buffer to go build. Catcha later.
