With the possible exception of certain chunks of New England, it doesn't really get much more liberal than Maryland, especially on the east coast. So, that's not the problem. :) What I want from California is sunshine and breathable summers, which are kind of exclusive to out there. But really at this stage, I'm inclined to go to wherever a job materializes.
