Commissions, Colorations, and Too Much To Do

AnthroCon is likely to be pure or at least mostly profit for me, because the travel is cheap and I've got roomies to split the hotel cost. Dragon*Con, on the other hand, is going to be a big, fat tick just suckin' on my wallet -- owie! So I was thinking of auctioning some commissions to defray those costs. I doubt I'd get FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! (*thud*) apiece, but I suspect I might be able to net at least $50 - $100 for each, and if I could do a couple of them, that might cover the hotel or the air ticket.

There is the problem of color. I can do colored pencil, but I generally prefer (and get better results from) digital color. So one of the things I was thinking of doing was giving the purchaser the option of getting a hand-colored original, or a large color print of digitial color plus the b/w original artwork.

There is also the issue, that there is a bunch of stuff that I already owe people. I do need to get that stuff out of the way; I would prefer to do it before I took on new projects, but at the same time, I would also like to get an infusion of cash before I have to pay for the con.

I suspect it's time to whip up another "Too Much To Do" list ... except that I'm at work and I've spent too much time on this entry as it is!

Seems to me you've ordered ten Thanksgiving dinners when all you have is a stomach the size of Wensley. You're taking a break from SJ this week --- that should give you the window you're looking for to get these comissions done... 'cept breaks are supposed to be breaks instead of work... *shrugs*

If the Dragon Con is going to cost more than building the Watering Hole a few times over, why not skip it this year and save on the gold that's better spent on grog and Things That Make Orc Skulls Go Smash?

Hmmm... that would be a good question to ask Leonard --- if he's willing to build a few more "chain" Watering Holes :P

Frankly hon, I don't see why you should be concerned about what someone else can pull in. Looking at those bids, seems like those two have more dollars than sense anyways.

And yes, you are being too hard on yourself, and need to not take on such heavy loads. Lighten it up a little, your state of health is more important anyways.

Actually, I'm not concerned, I'm jazzed beyond words that Vincey's getting that kind of money, he's worth it twice over!

I'm mostly just jealous 'cause I want to make that kind of money myself. ;)
