Paneling -- Your Opinion Wanted!
Mar. 9th, 2004 02:55 pmI sent an e-mail off to Sue Deer offering my services as a panelist at AnthroCon this year, and she promptly replied with, "The theme is Summer Games this year, (Olympic and otherwise), I wonder if you might be able to do something with that?"
Uh ... okay ... I have no idea what, but I'm game!
So now, I'm trying to come up with ideas. Given my areas of expertise (webcomics, art, and writing), I'm not entirely sure what I could shoehorn into a Summer Games theme. Vince could easily do his anatomy tutorial as "The Athletic Furry Physique," for instance, but if I retooled my penciling panel, how would that relate to Summer Games? Maybe I could do "The Webcomics Marathon: How to Keep Going?" Something of a specialized subject, I would think.
So anyway, I'm going to toss this out for general discussion. If you are going to AC, what would you like me to do a panel on? And who, if anybody, would you want me to invite along as additional panelists?
I'm open to suggestions! And in fact, I want them, badly!

Date: 2004-03-09 02:44 pm (UTC)I also like the marathon idea in the Gneech's original post. Yeah, maybe "going the distance with your web comic" has a limited audience. But fandom in general has a VERY high proportion of would-be authors, artists, cartoonists, and other creative types. Discussing how to stick to your dream -- whatever that dream is -- would be a Good Thing, I think.

BTW, why didn't you tell me you were an artist? I just checked out your web stash ... not bad at all! :) Reminds me a bit of K-9.
