Oh, heaven help us! *goes into cardiac arrest*

Jeez, you'd think they'd try to do something good for the franchise with ST XI, but noooooo, they had to come up another way to kill it.

If they wanted good ideas and they wanted to set things in the past, there's plenty of material to choose from in the book series (licensed by Paramount to Pocket, what's the problem?). Too bad they've decided to be stupid about this.

*staggers from his chair* Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *pantpant* Oooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh well, I bet Gene's rolling over in his space capsule, which is probably just like the one they used for Spock in ST:II.

Oh. My. Ghod. Does this mean that Will Crusher would just be a smear on the floor?

Guinan: "Now play nice, children!"
Crew: "Yes, Guinan!"
Troi: "Ewwww!! Guinan, I stepped inna ensign!"

I think Wesley would be like Robin was in Muppet Babies, and be a tadpole or something.

Although Baby Gonzo had a stuffed chicken named Camilla. Maybe in this case, Wesley could be Baby Beverly Crusher's doll or something. :)

And yes, I know it's Wesley, not Will. I read Wheaton's blog on a regular basis, so it's understandable.

When all else fails... hit the prequel bandwagon. After all, you don't need to hire the REAL actors for the characters. That would cost $$$. You just have to hire some unknown that vaguely resembles the name actor.

Arrrghhhh....I'm wondering if they'll at least follow canon regarding those events? They're fairly well documented in the series published by Pocket Books as Gene Roddenbury dictated them.

Is it too late to hunt down whoever had this pea-brained idea and club them to death?

Shouldn't they just let it die with dignity?

There is no such thing as death with dignity in Hollywood. Everything must be run into the ground until it stops making money. (cf. Rocky 6)
