AnthroCon Roxxorz; Westin Suxxorz
Jun. 19th, 2006 03:09 pmIn real language, we're back. :) AnthroCon was awesome, the Westin was a festering blight on the hotel industry.
I had a great time, we made a ton of money, life is good. More details later! :)

Date: 2006-06-19 11:30 pm (UTC)Also, I meant to buy the lastest SJ book, but as soon as I got to your table I completely forgot which order they were in (whether Orange Alert or Tough Breaks was the latest one), and blanked on which one I had (or didn't have). Alas!

Date: 2006-06-20 12:11 am (UTC)And you should have asked -- we'd have been happy to help you out. (And Tough Breaks is the most recent, for the record. ;) )

Date: 2006-06-20 12:26 am (UTC)And it seemed like a lot of people knew each other there; when people already know each other, and are getting reacquainted since the last con, it makes it kinda hard for unknowns (like myself) to get into the mix, especially if (like me) those unknowns are a little introverted.
Anyway, I'll try to do better next year!

Date: 2006-06-20 01:10 am (UTC)If you can make it there for a little longer next year, I'd love to have lunch with you or something so we can chat at length a bit -- it's hard to do at the rushy-rushy table!

Date: 2006-06-20 01:20 am (UTC)I know that the table is hectic, and you're there (at the table) to make money, and at least the first time it's tough to think of stuff to say that won't come out all fanboyish, and I'm too damned old to be a fanboy. ;p
I need to spend more time there, just so I can get more sketches! I only wound up with three, and the really popular artists had full schedules the entire time, anyway.
You were more personable than Eric Schwartz, though! ;)

Date: 2006-06-20 03:13 pm (UTC)Erm, anyways, it was great being able to pick up Childproof The Unicorns. I would have picked up more Suburban Jungle books... but I couldn't remember which ones I had already. >.< Anyways, I would greatly appreciate the link to the place where you get your (cool-looking) fedoras, and now, I must get back to work, if I'm going to finish this Leona Lioness project before next year!

Date: 2006-06-20 03:28 pm (UTC)But here's where I got mine (http://www.hartfordyork.com/ShowView/product/182/15) -- you can probably find something that suits you from the same place. :)

Date: 2006-06-29 05:00 am (UTC)It was awesome seeing you again! Especially when we had a chat while at the Artist and Dealer's Reception...I'm still interested in trying to get a little book together of my comic as soon as I get enough comics for it (I think the count for the strips currently is at 63...) I've got a few other questions about possibly marketing the comic, or some of the characters (Clax, in general, since it seems he's everyone's favourite character so far!) and I'm still fairly new to the comic scene too. Any way I can Email you and we can chat about it more? Suggest a few pointers and tips? :)
