Slick-lookin' strip. Horrible site navigation.

Yeah, its worldwide I think. It's been a series of record high temperatures here in the UK too, reaching 97 and up, and roads have been melting! People have been walking on roads and their shoes are getting stuck in melting tarmac!

...and then I have to spend tomorrow (another predicted 97 degree day) working in the MensWear department of a British department store called Marks and Spencer (the UK equivalent of Macy's or JC Penney etc), Menswear is on the top floor of this store, which hasnt had a re-fit, so its still 70s and old fashioned, from the dark carpets to the hideous lack of proper air conditioning. As well as the fact that I have to be on my feet for 8 hours with only a half hour break (yesterday was 5 hours, no break), in an all black long-sleeved shirt as part of the uniform. Fun.

The UK lacks good air con in most places as we dont generally have a history of needing them, so they were just in maybe the occasional hotel, restaurant etc, but certainly not in normal homes and shops etc, but with the weather how its been the past 5 or so years, we need better aircon... everywhere!!

Put the aircon outside, mess with nature! Bwahahah!

Sorry...
...

...heat getting to the brain. Ah well, maybe they'll put me in the food hall tomorrow... they have good air con.

I hope you'll forgive me, but I just have to say, "Good afternoon, Mr. Grace."

Of course, that's the young Mr. Grace, the old Mr. Grace doesn't get around much anymore.

Heh, I've been dying for someone to ask me "are you free, Mr Crolla?" just so I can go "I'm free!!"

and Im getting tempted to jump out at people and go "OOH! Suit you, sir!"

Yeah, what Invisible wolf said.
97... Gee, that was pretty much our LOW temperature here in Phoenix over the weekend...

Is that "Super Information Hijinks: Reality Check?"

Thats Sequential Art, but now that you mention it, I can totally see how you might thing its Reality Check. That was a pretty cool comic, and the art does have a similiar look.

Nope, not Reality Check, but it has some of the same key elements.
>.> You haven't read it? I have a copy! Come out to Further Confusion and I'll let you read it! :P

But dangit, Guh-Neech, I'm hooked on the strip now!! @_@

Yup, that's been the weather here, too. Sunday, we broke the record set in 1959. Yesterday we were two degrees shy of the record set in 1928.

It's supposed to be about ten degrees cooler today.

Have teh best

Yah -- when you get above 115 F, call me. Till then, you ain't got a heat wave, mmmmkay?

Yeah, I'm sayin'. It's been "hot" but that's about it. Of course it's hot, it's freaking SUMMER.

What's a heat wave in one place is a normal day for a lot of other places. Mind you, 115 is a bit much for here in the Deep South, but temps up to 105 wouldn't particularly surprise me. It IS late July, about to be August, after all.

Yeah -- I'm just giving Gneech the bizness. ;-) It hit 118 here in Phoenix over the weekend!

The record temperature for Phoenix is 122.

I'm in ENGLAND and getting these temperatures... its DEFINATELY a heatwave for us.

Lets get someone from Cairo to tell you not to call it a heatwave till it hits over 130 ;)

England's up to 45 C? That's impressive! :-)

*laughs* Cairo, or just about anyplace else in the Middle East! ;-) I just had to give Gneech a hard time -- so many people here are complaining about temperatures in the 90s and here in Phoenix, we've had temperatures over 100 consistently over the last month.

Thankfully, it's (mostly) a dry heat.

It's winter here down under! I'm freezing! America and Europe have stolen all my heat! You're complaining about being too hot, but I'm too cold!

... but when you're freezing your ass off, I'll be the one sweltering. So I guess it all works out :]
