I was speaking figuratively....no, the cartoons weren't in color, but I know that Skimmers were green....if any of them had been drawn in color, they would have been green...I know because Mongo drew them in color by himself....and made some figures...like the metal one he made in Shop, and the felt Xmas ornament one that Mutti made for him on his directions.
The Gribiflex Tree was from a comic he and Mongo used to draw in high school. It had Green Fuzzies and Doggerpillars, and Skimmers and Awebits, and, I think, Sniffs, though I'm not sure on the last one. That one was a murrrmaiyd creation, but intended for that comic and they may've used it. It was actually a pretty good comic, but there weren't that many, and I've no idea if anybody has any left.
I must confess to not remembering Soloman of Marva. That may've been from when he was off in Richmond.
Hoverbugs, not sniffs. I believe "Sniff" was a specific hoverbug ... but I'm not sure of that.
Soloman of Marva is a supporting character who keeps showing up in my fantasy writing. Sorta like a cross between Gandalf, Elric, and Vampire Hunter D. He's pretty cool, actually. :)
You read one of those fantasy novel drafts, didn't you? He's in there.
No, no, no....Hoverbugs were, indeed, my creation, and were in the comic, but Sniff wasn't a hoverbug...Mongo wanted me to make a creature called a sniff for some reason, I'm not sure of the exact circumstances right now, maybe because I had a cold and was sniffing a lot, but it was a totally separate creature. It looked like a parallelogram, I believe...a sideways rectangle slid back on the top, with an eye, a nose on the end of the lower point, and four stick legs, that was always sniffing.....I don't think it was used much....hoverbugs were the flying things that lived to fly and skimmers were always trying to hitch a ride on them, and they hated it, and were always scraping them off....
