This morning was bleah, but I feel much better now! Time to top it off w/ a mocha frapp. ;)

BTW, Jonas, hope it didn't seem like I was snapping at you, before. I certainly didn't mean to if it did. Illustrator and I have been bitter enemies since the early '90s.

I did finally figure out how to get it to do what the instructions said -- by clicking on a random button that says "Expand" for no readily apparent reason, doesn't seem to have any other function, and isn't mentioned in the instructions anywhere. Which, sadly, is typical of my experiences with the Draw Program From Hell.

Doesn't that make you a cannibal since Gneeches are made of awesome?

To me it sounded like you were snapping at an uncooperative program. Are there any good alternatives available?

Probably Flash would be the best alternative draw program right now (which explains why Adobe bought Macromedia).

Well, Illustrator is the drug of choice among professional designers and I want to beat the thing, although Flash is much easier to use. Since Adobe bought Macromedia, I expect Flash and Illustrator will eventually merge in three or four more versions.

Given the tight integration that Adobe is building into their software, the ability to shunt graphics back and forth between P-shop and Illustrator while maintaining all the filters and fiddly effects is probably worth the anguish of figuring out all of its stupidities.
