Who'da thunk it would be hard to find a cartoon ape? So far I've found the apes in Disney's Tarzan (which aren't so hot), Grape Ape, and Magilla Gorilla. I may end up flying solo on this one!
I also have Hogarth's Tarzan of the Apes books, which are excellent ... but I'm not sure how helpful they'll be for making an ape suitable for comic strip use!
Not that I wouldn't love to spend a few hours this weekend studying those books anyway, just on general principles... ;) (Mmm ... Hogarth ... *drool*)
Oh well, I'll work it out. :)

PS: They have a firm description of the sniper's van now, and I suspect they've got more information that they haven't told the press, as well. There were rumors that they were chasing him down 95, but I think those may have just been rumor. I hope they get him, and A.S.A.P.

And that's basically what I've been doing. :) I'll have some pics to post tonight. Apparently, Eddie's been working out!

I thought Eddie was a Chimp too.
Physically, he's about the same size as Dover.
It'll be kind of weird if he suddenly comes
out as a gigantic mountain gorilla.

However, some readers may experience a moment or 3 of
cognitive dissonance among readers when Eddie makes
a bulked up appearance.
Thought: Maybe Eddie is finally off the Chemotherapy?
Oh well, I should talk. One of these days, my readers
are going to go through a similar moment. A loooong
time ago, I had a vampire bat character. She stood
about as tall as Jack. The next time they meet, she'll
be in a more proper size: more akin to Wensley and
Ramses. :o
Ooops.
Oh, well, Hindsight and all. If only we'd known these
things when we first started the strips, eh?

Your "reality check" is drawn on the funds of imagination; you cannot bounce it. The worst you could do is make Cecil seasick (like Arthur when Mopsy did her size-change trick).
(Cecil the Seasick C-Surfer... nah)
The Mighty Casey's A Bat!
Bat To The Future
Bats of the Bulge
Strike Three Says The Vampire
Bat Star Galactica
If It Wasn't For Bat Luck...
Candy's Dandy, but Blood is Thicker
(I'll get out of here without trying to thousand a bat...)

Date: 2002-10-11 09:59 pm (UTC)My cousin's thyroid was fixed and she gained weight. I know a pastor whose thyroid went haywire and he ballooned up massively (he was already a big guy, but is now at least three times what he was when I last saw him).
Good reasons either way why he's put on poundage.
