Grab-Bag Day, Revisited

I think I've mentioned that I have been pondering for some time now the concept of "Grab-Bag Day," a way to add more content to the site, without actually adding that much more work. :) I think I'll probably start doing that in December: Grab-Bag Saturdays, which would include things like:

• Sketches
  
  
• Development pics
  
  
• Fan art
  
  
• Promotional art, banners, etc.
  
  
• Random non-strip artwork
  
  
• Reprints of SJ character cameos from other strips
  
  
• Anything else I can think of

I chose Saturdays because I often do my sketching on Friday night over at jamesbarrett's/HantaMouse's/Mütti's place and come home and scan and post the pic the next day anyhow. :) A lot of the stuff that will run will be things that have showed up on the site or the message boards before, such as Drezzer's "Down With Pants!" protest, and some will be new stuff as I come up with it. And because it's "Grab-Bag Day," I don't have to worry about it being great ... it's just a little bonus item. If it is great, of course, then so much the better!

I was thinking of moving the strip to a M-T-W schedule with Grab-Bag Fridays, but if I get behind on strips and end up strips the day before three nights in a row, that would suck. I think I like this plan better.

Hmmm... Something just dawned on me...

Considering Drezzer is British, shouldn't his protest be "Down With Trousers"? To the British, "pants" are actually underwear (Y-fronts, Boxers, whatever).

Yeah, yeah, I know... Don't split hairs. Punk didn't wear them either, so he's on Drezzer's side. :-)

I like the concept of grab bag Saturdays; I'm here anyway, and it's a "soft" day in the webcomic world.

Also, as it is going to be regular, you'll get a good audience for it.

Finally, the "Pants" discussion reminded me of a song from the Mason Williams Phonograph record (this was recorded in a flaming "swish" vocal style; fake it when you read along...) ];)
