Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety-Jig
Nov. 24th, 2002 10:11 pmLet me esplain -- no, there is too much. Let me sum up:
Con was good. :) Official tallies are not finished, but it seems to have paid for itself :) and made about $100 profit! Woohoo! =)
Confuzzlement with Plan 9 meant no t-shirts (sigh) and very limited prints. However, mousepads moved well and buttons were a big big hit. Sketchbooks made all the difference tho.
Got to see lots of my favorite people. :) Got to meet David Simpson finally. The panel was a success. :) The presense of Dave the Book Guy helped, and I think he was touched by the round of applause he received. :)
The TCM forumites dinner was pleasant, except for trying to follow Sheperdwolf >:P ... apparently, I like spumoni, which is something I'd never tried before. :) Loxley, Leto, and the rest were dressed as characters from TCM ... since I was wearing one of my "Watering Hole" polo shirts, I crossed my arms and scowled and said I was dressed as Leonard doing a cameo. ;)
Only real downside, there were a few times when I felt distinctly ditched by people I was hanging out with. I don't know if I was really ditched, or if it was coincidence and my natural insecurity making me paranoid. Not like I'm neurotic or anything. ;P But having had less-than-desired company whom I didn't want to offend, but who wouldn't take the hint and leave before, I am almost irrationally scared that I'm going to do that same thing to other people, and I really don't want to.
Anyway, big ol' waves and hugs to everybody I got to see! It was definitely worth the trip. :)
Oh, and

You know, sometimes folks are afraid of taking too much of your time. Wires can get crossed easily with someone you do not know well.
Thursday, by the way, my package came in.
I've been busy, but am enjoying the contents! Thank you!
At some point, a track listing would be useful if it's not too much trouble.

Date: 2002-11-24 08:12 pm (UTC)I guess it is like that feeling that you realize that nobody is free from crticism or secretive enmity. =P
I wish I could have gone. Oh, well.

Nahhhhh... We just need to get you a +2 big magic hammer of aloofness... oh wait... there was that one at Anthrocon with Kamau... soooo, maybe not such a good idea, since you don't seem to have the exotic skills required... so maybe can I interest you in a fee-fi-foo-fanna ray gun that Smrgol has? ;)
