It was during the Crusades; a message had come back from the front lines because a village being attacked by the Crusaders (Beziers, I think) turned out to have converted to Christianity, at least partly. The soldiers were wondering what to do, and how to best go about picking out the "guilty parties"; i.e. those who were not correct Christians. (As I recall, the others were not so much Muslim as a variant of Catholicism called Cathar.)
The phrase "Kill 'em all, God sort 'em out", now the sort of "credo" of mercenaries around the world, was originally "Kill them all; God will know his own. It has been attributied to the monk in direct charge of the soldiers, and by others to Pope Innocent II in 1209.
It certainly could have been both of them; it has a catchy ring to it. ];-/
It occurs to me that prester_scott is likely to know more about this; I'm just a business dude and don't know much about history. ];)
I'm sure that it was just a misunderstanding. Can't we talk this out, Dave?
Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do... I'm half crazy all for the love of you... It won't be a stylish marriage. I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

And I have confirmed that yes, I have the software. :)
I suspect that the trickiest part of the whole thing will be making sure I have the most up-to-date drivers for video card / drawing tablet / etc.
Fortunately, SJ is posted through Wednesday, so I have some time in case the reinstall doesn't go as smoothly as I'd like.
