LotRO Developer Diary: Radiance -- What Went Wrong?

As you can see, our intentions were good. We wanted to do something new for the game and not create a new grind mechanic that ultimately resulted in running the same content over and over to acquire a “key”.

Somehow, this is exactly what we ended up making. None of us were pleased.

How could something like this happen?

But the thing is, I still can't find a date for when all this stuff is supposed to happen. I keep getting stuck in the Turbine maze :) Never really understood the "Radiance" anyways. Guess most other players didn't either.

They haven't announced a date. "Q1 update" (Echoes of the Dead) for some changes, and Rise of Isengard (late 2011) for others.

I just started playing LotRO recently, so I missed out on this whole Radiance thing.

Though "Rift" is threatening to drag me off to yet another MMO already. n.n

Yeah, it's an endgame thing, so unless you get to Moria before the Q1 update, you'll never see it.

OTOH, you're not missing anything. ;) The whole radiance system was rather bungled from the start. Fortunately, there's lots of awesome stuff in place to make up for it.
