My bad habit is probably lingering at the table talking, though I try to be mindful of whether the artist is trying to focus or I'm blocking customers wanting to buy stuff.

On tipping... are artists expecting tips for prints or books? I tip if I'm particularly pleased with a commission but don't generally tip on other purchases. What's the expectation?

Honestly, I've never heard of tipping an artist as a regular thing. I can't speak for other artists, but I know I'd feel a little weird about it -- I'm often amazed people want to pay me to do art at all. Expecting people to pay more than I'm asking just seems like hubris, to me.
