Actually, I use 1 litre of 2% milk in one litre of eggnog, in a 2 litre container. Makes it go longer, and not as thick.

(aside) Why the heck doesn't Firefox dictionary recognize "litre". It's only used worldwide.

Yeah, I also find most storebought eggnog to be too thick and syrupy. I usually dilute them about by about a third.
Perhaps homemade sorts are better.
