Car starts. Car is put into gear. Accelerator is pressed. Car goes VROOOOOM! but doesn't move.

We can't afford this. :(

My good buddy Camstone is loaning us one of his cars pro tempore[1], and we're going to get Bruce towed over to the dealer, where he'll probably sit all weekend and maybe into next week as well.

If the cost of repairing this is through the roof, we may use Bruce as trade-in on a 2002 Ford Escape. I'd hate to have to resort to that, but if Bruce has hit the "fix it every month" stage, it is our best bet.

Oy. Cars.

[1] Thank you, Camstone! You rule. :)

Well, for those following the saga... )

Oh, by the way, Camstone said that we were free to name his Mustang if we wanted, so I have taken to calling him "Midnight." (Camstone was very clear on the fact that the Mustang was of the masculine gender.)

On a completely unrelated note, the Bowflex is now partially assembled, and usable in its basic form. The leg, lat, and squat attachments will go on tomorrow. So far, I'm liking it. :) But I haven't actually done much with it yet.

On another completely unrelated note, I have to get my hair trimmed tomorrow! I'm not used to this idea of a "maintenance" haircut. However, given the positive reaction most people seem to have to the current do, I guess I'd better keep it from getting ratty lookin', huh?

In the words of Pete Abrams, "And that's it. I'm going back to bed."

[1] The idea that a 1996 model year car is old and close to retirement age offends me to no end. But that's another rant for later, and has nothing to do with the relative merits of Bruce personally. Given the state of the auto industry, Bruce is a great car.
