When You've Got Nothing To Say, Say It!
May. 4th, 2003 11:00 amNo deep thoughts or even shallow ones worth posting for the past couple of days; however, I will mention this:
Tome of Horrors from Necromancer Games is way cool. :) If you are a 3e D&D DM, I highly recommend it. It basically boils down to being a big ol' chunk of the content from The Creature Catalogue, mostly converted 1e monsters from the original Fiend Folio and Monster Manual II, but some very cool original monsters as well.
WOTC has a new "Fiend Folio" of their own out, which looks like it also has some good stuff in it, but other than the name, has very little to do with the 1e book. Most of the things I'm interested in the new Fiend Folio, tho, have versions in the Tome of Horrors already -- and the TOH has lots more cool stuff.
Anyway, now I've gotten all that out of the way, it boils down to the fact that I'll probably be picking up my D&D game again soon ... it's kinda been a while. Camstone's "What! Dead again?" rogue Tateland is getting a mini-scenario of his own to help him beef back up after lost levels and reunite him with the rest of the party, because they need to all be together before their assault on Uzthril. This will finally bring them to the end of Shadows Under Thessalaine, the last chapter of which I pretty much have to rewrite from the ground up because the characters are at twice the level the scenario expects.
After that, it's on to Heart of Nightfang Spire, which reviews tell me is a vicious killer of a module, not quite as bad as the 1e party-eating Tomb of Horrors but still mighty, mighty bad. I just hope Camstone's rogue doesn't die this time!
