bobbersome
Elated; in high spirits.--John Brockett's Glossary of North Country Words, 1825
Tea Time
On this date in 1763, the diary of James Boswell contained the following observation about the effects of a favorite beverage: "I was really a good deal low-spirited all the afternoon. In the evening, my mind cleared up. I was pleased and lively, and my genius was in fine humour for composition. I wrote several fanciful essays that pleased me highly. The human mind is really curious; I can answer for my own. For here now, in the space of a few hours, I was dull and a miserable, a clever and a happy mortal, and all without the intervention of any external cause except a dish of green tea, which indeed is a most kind remedy in cases of this kind. Often I have found relief from it. I am so fond of tea that I could write a whole dissertation on its virtues. It comforts and enlivens without the risks attendant on spiritous liquors. Gentle herb! Let the florid grape yield to thee."

I'm in a funk today. :P Events have conspired to leave me cranky, and it's not a condition I generally like to be in. I'm also having a great deal of difficulty interacting with people in ways that don't leave me snarling and generally wanting to bite their heads off.
I need to have some fun. Another nice sunny day at home would help too.
