So That's What It Isn't...
Mar. 11th, 2008 12:34 pmBack to the doctor today. MRI and ultrasound both found nothing untoward (so I did read the test results correctly), so it's nice to know that I don't have a herniated disk or blocked artery, but that still doesn't explain why I keep feeling like somebody's applying hot matchstick heads to my leg. :P
So the next step is to go to a neurologist to get tests done for peripheral nerve damage. Meanwhile, as a temporary measure, I've been prescribed a nerve medicine ("Lirica" or something similar, I forget the exact name) which is specifically designed to treat burning sensations in peripheral nerves, go fig.
If it can keep the pain from bugging me when I sleep, that'll be enough ... what's the point of going through all the rigmarole to get a CPAP if I'm just going to wake up from having imaginary gremlins setting fire to my leg at night?
