Happy Gneech is Happy

Well, after yesterday's little bungle with the melatonin, I managed to get something resembling a good night's sleep last night and feel much better today. I actually got up at the time I'm theoretically supposed to and seem to be firing on most (if still not quite all) cylinders. So hurrah!

Yesterday I also finished penciling the Arclight Adventures prologue story, "Must Fly!" In all honesty, I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep it up. It's not that I can't draw the thing, but every page, almost every panel, is like pulling teeth as I try to hit a pro-level standard that's really over my head. So far the only way I've been able to continue is by bribing myself: "Finish this page today, and you can draw ponies tonight."

But, I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. It's entirely possible that my artistic chops will rise to the occasion. We'll see. I'm not going to give up without giving it a fair shake.

I also must admit, I have a certain amount of gaming itch, fed no doubt by jamesbarrett's Pathfinder game. I don't think anything's going to come of it in the immediate future-- I just don't have the mental bandwidth for it-- but it won't hurt to play with ideas in my off-moments.

I've just caught up with the story so far over at Arclight. I can appreciate that it must be hard work to plan and draw, but the result is a visual treat. (Doesn't it break your heart that a page can be read in 5 seconds after taking, what, 5 hours to draw?)

I spent a few days working on a script that a friend is now working on putting together the props and locations so they can spend a week or so shooting it. The end result is going to be around one minute twenty seconds long including credits.

From my experience there's plenty of learning curve for the transition to comic pages. Just keep at it, I'm sure you'll do fine :-)
