Why do I keep thinking of the snarky hand-pupped God from Sinfest? “Either the universe is really messing with us by making dark matter more complicated than we might have thought (but still accessible to our experiments), or searching for dark matter is really hard and the experiments are still fighting with unknown sources of error. Or both!”

The Workout Report Bit

Early in August, my back started flaring up badly, which threw my workouts for a loop. And then Dragon*Con happened, obviously. So it wasn't until last night that I managed to get back to it. Of course, that meant that yesterday my back had to crap out again. But more as an act of defiance than anything else, I went and worked out anyway! I won't bother to post the numbers here, as it was a weaksauce workout, but it did at least happen, and sometimes that's the important thing.

The Creativity Bit

I woke up this morning with the opening of Chapter Two of Arclight Adventures in my head. Apparently the story is quite urgently wanting to be written now, which is a great thing, but that also means that I need to get cracking and draw the thing! (I also need to write down the scene before I forget it.)

The Good, the Bad, the Weird Bit

I finally finished watching The Good, the Bad, the Weird last night. A fun ride of a movie, though a bit harsh in spots. (What can I say? I'm a tad squeamish when it comes to explicit violence. There's also some sequences that I'm hoping were CGI, 'cause I'd hate to see actual horses treated that way.) It probably contributed to the Creativity Bit above, as there's a lot of similarities between what I have in mind for Arclight and G,B,W. Arclight has more robots and giant bugs in it, of course. Like, any. I'm hoping Arclight will also have more to recommend it than being a nonstop chase sequence. :) But the soundtrack is awesome and the visuals definitely give me a lot to work with.

That would at least get my attention, as I never carried a chainsaw as a 10-year-old.

Unfortunately, beyond that, I don't think 10-year-old me would get much out of it. Too broken and clueless. I'd have to come back when I was 14 or so to even start making headway.
