The most contemporary series I watched was Angel Beats[1], which I wouldn't have known about at all except for certain members of the #TwitterPonies mentioning it. But it seems so hard to find the kind I like! Before that, three seasons of Sgt. Frog, which I enjoyed but just couldn't keep watching.
