Check Those Milestones!

the_gneechIn a fit of reflection, I looked at this post from July, 2002, and was pleased at how much progress I'd made. Of course, this post was made before I had the web programmer job, so I was making do with $12.50/hr ... not easy to do around here! Anyway, addressing each point...
MUST-HAVES
Moving is done, for the time being. The apartment is far from great, but it's in better shape than when we moved in, and the landlord seems to be doing his best to keep us happy, so that's a good thing. It is nice to not be paying quite so many limbs for our domicile!
AnthroCon and Dragon*Con are done and done.
Christmas was made possible by the new job. All hail the new job!
REALLY REALLY WANT-'EMS
Kung Fu. Got it, doing it, love it. :) Life is good.
Bowflex. This may be coming next month; depends on what the financial situation says. Laurie is very excited about this idea, and that in itself makes it worth shaking the pillars of heaven (or at least straining our budget) for.
Midwest Furfest. This was a big success! Woohoo!
WOULD-BE-NICES
Computer. Upgraded to XP and everything's good! Much cheaper than buying a whole new one, that's for sure!
Vocational Training. This is coming as a natural consequence of the new job; how cool is THAT?
Further Confusion. Merchandise Maven Kerry will be there, and she's definitely jazzed about that, so more power to her! :) I won't be making it myself, but that's all right. Maybe next year!
CONCLUSIONS
I've actually achieved a lot more than I expected to -- and the things I haven't achieved, I'm either close to, or there is at least something being done on that front. I don't mind telling you, I'm astounded! Just goes to show you, aim high! So what are my goals for the upcoming year? Good question! I'm still trying to work them out. I'm open to suggestions!

Date: 2003-01-14 11:08 pm (UTC)I can't make the same claim - still haven't become 'Empress of the Universe', and Peace on Earth seems to be out of my reach, too. But, I did take a drawing class (I'm moving beyond stick people - now I can draw a mean slinky). Didn't quit smoking, and haven't lost any weight. I finally got smart and bought a skinnier mirror.
Anyway - glad to read this post - keep it up.

4) Good luck with this -- both of my parents spent 40+ years of their lives trying to quit, but both finally succeeded!
