Okay, last actual page WIP for a while. Here’s a slightly more complete version of page two, including some juicy dialog bits.

The full detailed backgrounds are awesome. I'd hate to color them, but they do give the sense of scale the outside did. Charity's really gonna have her hands full. :-)

Even with the M.C. Escher-esque loft-stairs thing in the corner? XD I better fix that.

Seriously, tho, thanks. :) As for coloring-- there will be much use of gradients to provide the illusion of detail, trust me. ;)

What's wrong with the stairs? One set up one side, another on the right. Fire and safety regulations for 2 means of escape?

In the bottom panel, the line indicating the end of the loft (underneath) leads to somewhere near the mid-point of the stairs, instead of the far right side.

That the stairs are there, is correct. :) How I rendered them is the problem.

Dude, if anyone took a ruler to my backgrounds, they'd laugh their tails off.
The bg may not be 100% perfect, but it reads exactly as it should.
Also, it IS an old building, why shouldn't things be slightly off-kilter?

Ahh, I saw the dartboard wall ending at the inside of the stairs, with another 2 feet of storage behind them/ understair storage. The outside wall being hidden.

Does Charity mentioning her uncle cause this page to fail the Bechdel Test? Probably (in the sense that Leonard is the ultimate actor behind the scene: Charity is only here because of him) but I don't care. It's an interesting sort of thing to look at, but I wouldn't worry about it unless your female characters are always only acting because of men.

I was only playing around with that comment anyway. :) I'm pretty confident the comic as a whole will do all right on that front. ;)
