the_gneech | Starbucks Moments: Randomness

On Veterans' Day a customer saw my nametag, which at the time read "John R. a.k.a. 'The Gneech'" and said, "What does that say? The greedy? People are dying out there, who are you to be greedy? You say you're friendly to veterans, but maybe you should be visiting their gravesites instead of giving them coffee..." and then rambled on in that vein for about ten minutes. When she could no longer get a reaction out of any of the staff, she continued rambling to the customers, until eventually she got bored and wandered off.

Two or three times a day, I get people asking if anyone has complained about the red cups. I have never had anyone complain about the red cups.

Tonight we had a group of about eight parents and daughters come in. The daughters were dressed as if for a sports event, so my first assumption was soccer, cheerleading, or the like. Turns out, they were Irish Step Dancers, as evidenced by their periodic randomly breaking into steps, singly or in pairs.
