I once heard that all stories in the world can pretty much be derived from 7 basic stories. This just proves that some stories indeed do match up VERY closely, when you get down to the very basics.
Harry never got his hand sliced off. Luke never went to jedi school, just private tutoring. Harry can't use the force to retrieve his wand. Luke's dad became the EVIL one! Harry never got dangled from the very bottom of the cloud city. Luke didn't have an annoying yet harmless nemesis.
