I'm Dreaming of a Warm, Brown Christmas...
Dec. 8th, 2003 08:50 amNormally, Decembers here are gray skies, brown trees, no precipitation (or at best rain), and forty degrees. Today, however, it is just EEEE!COLD! and there's still snow and ice on the ground from Friday/Saturday. We did irreparable damage to one of our snow shovels yesterday trying to get Laurie's car out of its ice coccoon, so we're going to have to get a new one after payday.
Speaking of payday, I still haven't figured out where that wayward money went from my bank account; I'm still investigating. My current theory is that a check I deposited may have bounced ... but I haven't determined which one. Once upon a time, I had a constant floating cushion of about $500 in my account so that I wouldn't be dependent on other people's checks not bouncing ... but then I was unemployed for a year and I'm still recovering from that. More bulletins as events warrant.
I didn't sleep well last night; I would doze off, but I never got into really deep sleep. I do remember having a dream, tho ... I went down to campus and drove into the parking garage, which suddenly became the ballroom level of the Dragon*Con hotel (although it was still a campus); I spotted
graveyard_greg wearing a bunny suit
and heading for an escalator; I called out to him and waved, but he didn't look my way. I also spotted a pair of fangirls dressed in Bun-Bun and Kiki the Ferret "costumes" (which consisted mostly of fuzzy ears and animal-print miniskirts) as I was milling around.
Suddenly, I realized that I'd left my books and notebooks at home and didn't have time to go back and get them; it was 8:00 or 8:30, and my first class was at 9:15 or so. I could easily stop at a convenience store and grab a notebook -- but I didn't know my schedule without my paperwork back at home! I was debating whether it would be better to make my best guess about my schedule, or go back home knowing that I'd have to cut my first class, when I woke up and remembered that I've been out of college for 12 years now. Oy vey.
This schedule motif comes up a lot in my dreams; the most common incarnation is that there is a class on Tuesdays and Thursdays that I completely forgot to attend all year and suddenly remember on the last day of the year.
Irritating. :P I wish I had more good dreams.

PS: I also wish the light in my office would stay on.

Here, just lay down on the comfy couch...
Date: 2003-12-08 08:01 am (UTC)You're dream of classes means that you are just having issues with the scheduling of your time. Stress and Anxiety have encroached into your dreams, and this could be that you've just overcome an issue - or see one coming up that you'll have to deal with. It could be something big or small, but it's an important issue to you.
The girls in dresses just mean you have a healthy libdo. Being ignored by Graveyard_Greg means you feel like you're being ignored by someone.
And the shovel thing... well... it means that now we know what to get you for Christmas. If you had had a dream of a shovel though, then we'd need a lot more sessions to explain that. =)
doesn't SunTrust have online banking?
