Yeah. That too was my reaction when I first saw it.
The way I see it, I was taking a risk watching 'The Medallion'. The thing I realised with risk(s), if I you never try anything new, you'll miss out on many of life's great disappointments.
Just ... weak script, painfully bad "comic relief" character (isn't Jackie supposed to be his OWN comic relief?), unconvincing Wire-Fu, large swaths of dialogue that make no friggin' sense ... just a really weak effort all around. Jackie's capable of much better.
Black Mask is really good. :) I mean, Long Live Jackie, and all that, but seriously... Jet Li is good. I even liked The One. But then again, I really liked Shanghai Knights, though I haven't seen The Medallion. Or The Tuxedo.
Do you think he'll do The Trousers or something like that next?
Ahhhh wasn't that WRETCHED? =p The stunts were absurd and fake, the martial arts was lacking, and the dialogue was horrendous.
I mean "and THIS is for not catching me!" WTF does that mean?!?
My favorite parts:
Police: "Here, kid! Play with this dead body!" Jackie: *catches the medallion, lets the girl hit the ground* Same Montero sports as airport shuttle vehicles on two different continents...endorse products much? Oh man, it was so bad. o_0 It was, like, Battlefield EArth bad. >_<
