Okay, the crud has turned into a bona fides cold, and I'm missing Kung Fu again ... sigh. I need to go get some medicine and knock this crap out before I end up missing class for a month.

On the upside, this should free up my weekend for lots of drawing; hopefully I'll be well enough to make gaming tonight.

In other news, I read in level_head's journal that Georgian Statesman and Former President Jimmy Carter blasted the Georgia education establishment with both barrels for their idiotic "let's ban the word 'evolution'" newspeak. Now, Mr. Carter is a man I respectfully disagree with on many points, but here I have nothing but admiration for him.

Mr. Carter, I salute you!

I think (of all people) Alton Brown (http://www.altonbrown.com/pages/rants.html#107548259077017589) puts it quite well:
Georgia state school Superintendent Kathy Cox has decided that the word "evolution" is "…a buzzword that causes a lot of negative reaction" and should be replaced in all Georgia school curriculum with the phrase "biological changes over time".

I agree. I hate buzzwords, don’t you? That’s why I think we should go one further and replace the phrase "slack-jawed backwater ignoramus" with the phrase "Kathy Cox".

It seems ever group is into this thing looking back over the last twenty years..
PC mostly gets me, but then to go overboard with ones that bite me a bit...
Chairman replaced with chairperson.
next they will say
Human replaced with huperson or hupeople -- short for 'yo you over there'.

Chairperson seems to have been rejected, but instead of 'chairman' one can now see just 'chair' which makes it seem like something is being lead by a piece of furniture.
