Other artists get to ink! Why don't I? Other artists don't have to throw away pens they just bought two weeks ago because they're only giving out weak, intermittent gray lines! Other artists don't give up on Rapidographs because the $60 specialty pens draw in AWFUL JAGGED LINES!

WAAAAAH! *stomps feet, throws stuff*

I don't wanna be an artist no more!

*pout*

PS: Don't take me seriously; I couldn't stop being an artist if I tried. I'm just throwing a tantrum 'cause I wanted to finish two more strips and my pens all died. :P

PPS: [livejournal.com profile] redkam is very silly!

Sorry... One suggestion is to do your inking digitally...
Or to buy one of those inkpot type pens..
I won't stop you from not wanting to be an artist, but lots of us believe you have so much talent that it would be a waste if you stopped being an artist...
>.> There's always just sketching... Or finding a pen that you're comfortable with, not some fancy art pens... >.> I hope my advice is helpful, but if not, then please disregard it...

2 weeks need not be unreasonable depending on how much you're using them. You may have to try more kinds of pens. I have a whole bundle of pens myself that I don't use because they don't work well. It's trial and error sometimes.

Oh I go through pens like nobody bussiness. I use micron 08 and 03's and if I'm lucky they last more than a month. x.x

When we can't afford pens, I do fake inking with a really dark pencil. I did a few pages of CD that way. :/

Don't stop drawing! *hugs*

Don't mind me, I'm just throwing a tantrum. Every once in a while, ya gotta indulge the inner brat. :)

^^; eh heh.. right. 'cept if this was more than a tantrum, I just gotta say. >.> But yeah, it's always good to indulge the inner brat..
And yeah, I go through pens a lot... I'd go through them faster *if* I drew more... <.<
^^; And as I say, everyone's entitled to a tantrum now and then. Hopefully, you'll find the right pens for you soon!

Me: *spends $30 on a nice shiny Rapidiograph, my first one!*

"Wow look, this will make all sorts of nice lines and such and I can ink all leet now!"

*pokes it to paper what I thought was gently and SNAP..... nib breaks in two and cue the Pac-Man death noise to my $$$*

I soooo know the feeling. =>.<=

Know the feeling intimately. All of my art stuffs wore out at the same time :P Now I've got to spend about $200 replacing everything.

I've been half-tempted to just grab the brush pen I did Smiley with and ink that way. Because Painter and PSP are just *not* working.

Have you done any digital inking?

Bad day huh?
Well you've got to let it out every so often.

Right, now let's talk about that beach front property in Arizona.

I haven't had a lot of success with that ... I tend to zoom in way too close and try to fill up the scene with way too much detail. That, and not being able to rotate the paper as I draw feels incredibly awkward.

On the other hand, it does make for erasable inks...

I hear you about the pens. I've got through 2 fineliners already and they're hardly used for anything.

Regardless of the 'don't take me seriously' comment, I'm still gonna say that you're one hell of an artist! I know that sounds sychophantic but it's true... you've produced some amazing stuff!
