Date: 2004-07-29 11:38 am (UTC)It looks like that Leonard's chest/shoulders aren't quite correctly placed with respect to each other. I would suggest raising the top of his chest a bit, especially at the corners.
My non-artistic $0.02. :-)

Date: 2004-07-29 12:02 pm (UTC)No seriously, it's awesome. I'll keep at it to see if there's anything I can find that could use work, but right now, it's perfect.

Date: 2004-07-29 12:51 pm (UTC)There's definitely something wonky about it but it's hard to place exactly what. It may have something to do with the arms.(Trogdor!)They look like they're 'hung on'. And the elbow on the right side is odd.

Date: 2004-07-29 01:35 pm (UTC)OK -- when in doubt, conduct an experiment to gather empirical evidence. :) After standing up and adopting a similar pose while looking in a mirror, I think what makes the pose look "off kilter" is that unless Leonard has much longer-than-average arms, his elbows are positioned too far away from his ribcage, and the right arm (viewer's right, that is!) describes too much of an angle.
They're positioned in a way that would be more appropriate if he had his hands chocked on his hips, which would be a shorter distance from the shoulders to the point of contact between hand and body and would thus necessitate more of an elbow angle. With his thumbs hooked in his pockets, his hands are below the hipline, and also pulled forward a bit to the front of the body, which makes a longer line from the shoulder and should pull the arms a bit straighter than they appear to be.
Also, the natural tendancy of a person standing in this pose would be to have the upper arm going back (away from the viewer) slightly, then the forearm coming forward again, putting the elbow slightly behind the body. This would also tend to flatten out the apparent angle from the viewer's 2D perspective -- right now, he kinda looks like he's trying to do the Superman pose, with the elbows pulled deliberately forward to be even with the front of the body -- which is a dramatic pose, to be sure, but not the natural "fall" of a more relaxed pose such as this.

Date: 2004-07-29 01:37 pm (UTC)1) His right ear looks a little pointed.
2) If I recall from the strip he has a fuller mane then this drawing has.
3) Eyes have something wrong but I'm not sure exactly what. maybe not enough white? Maybe unbalanced (even with the side glance taken into account)?
Hope that helps.

Date: 2004-07-29 02:00 pm (UTC)About the 'wonkiness' you refer to, the only thing I can evenly vaguely kind of see is the difference sizewise of the pectorals. Other than that it's cool :)

Date: 2004-07-29 02:41 pm (UTC)The tilt of his body at the top suggests that his right shoulder is closer to the viewer than the left. His arms have about the same angle. But the left hand is lower than the right -- making it look like he has a longer left arm than right arm.
Regardless, it's a beautiful sketch! He looks yummy!

Date: 2004-07-29 11:58 pm (UTC)Yesl, the second is better. Specifically the arms and hips. :) Abdomen is more defined too, but wasn't quite as odd in this version. :)
