Publicatory Aspirations
Jun. 12th, 2002 12:16 pmYou know what I'd really like to do? I'd like to try my hand at writing some furry comics other than SJ. Not doing the art, mind you -- I'd happily leave that part to somebody else. Just the writing. I'm talking about comic books here, for paper publication, although webcomics are great too. :) There are subjects I'd like to tackle that aren't right for SJ; and there are lots of genres I'd like to play in that I've never done much for.
The hard part is finding an artist. I've chatted with Vince Suzukawa a few times about potential ideas, but he's got his hands full with Class Menagerie. But strange as it may sound, I don't know that many active furry artists, and the ones I know, are all busy.
I suppose I might meet more if I hung out on IRC or the MU*s, but I can't even fathom having that kind of time to spend. I can chat on AIM or ICQ at work, because that is something where five minutes between messages doesn't leave you left way behind in the conversation. In a chat room, you have to pay attention and be "in the room," so to speak.
Well, with AC coming up, maybe I'll start putting some feelers out, talk to some publishers, etc. I have potential printers in the form of both Dave Allen and Keenspot, but there are lots of other small presses out there I could work with, too.
I'd really like to branch out, tho. :) That would be way cool.

Same here -.-
Oh, by the way, hi :) Don't know if you remember me or not, but I think you sent me some plushies a few years back, if that rings any bells? Just hope I haven't mistaken you for someone you're not -- that'd be awkward...

Horror and Woe
Date: 2002-06-12 11:30 am (UTC)I'm going to be 18 this December though. The horror! I don't even know what I'll do after I'm finished with school in about a year from now. Get a job? Get more education? Write a book? Read a book? Move to another country to be closer to any furiend s I have (who actually wants me to be closer to them)? Oh, the choices I have to make. Woe is me!
And you? =)
*nods* Interested!
